STIHL is the world's leading brand of chainsaws and is a market leader in the
outdoor power equipment industry.
Situation
Stihl was replacing its ERP legacy system with Navision. This necessitated significant change to business processes and created change management challenges for staff.
Stihl wanted to document new processes to assist with staff training and user adoption
of the new system from go-live. They also wanted to use this period of change to
introduce a continuous improvement culture where front line staff assumed
responsibility for ongoing ownership and management of their business processes.
Solution
Promapp was implemented. 90% of Stihl's business processes have been captured
and a culture of process ownership and ongoing continuous improvement has been adopted. Clear and transparent processes and procedures are now visible for staff
and management in the following areas:
Customer Services, Warehouse and Dispatch, Inventory Management, Procurement,
New Product to Market processes, Sales, Marketing and Promotions,
Finance and Human Resources.
